GrantEast Midland Materials Sector have a project designed to support small to medium sized businesses in the East Midlands to reduce landfill and recover materials which are often discarded or not fully reclaimed. Free consultations and information will help businesses to reduce waste and improve recovery. There will also be an element of grant funding within the project. GrantEast Midlands: University of Nottingham Business Innovation Voucher.  Businesses can apply for vouchers of up to £5k in order to apply for University expertise to help develop products, processes or services. Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate that their business has a need that requires help and expertise of staff within the University. Grant –The Carbon Trust Applied Research Scheme. The Carbon Trust has announced that it has doubled the size of grants available under its flagship Applied Research scheme from £250,000 to £500,000. Look at www.carbontrust.co.uk for more information.

London 2012 – There are many opportunities to win contracts to provide goods and services for London 2012. Improve your Resource Efficiency East Midlands businesses can now take advantage of the emda funded “Improve Your Resource Efficiency (IYRE) Programme.  The programme provides free expert advice to small and medium sized businesses, enabling them to access up to one day of one site support and identifies low cost/no cost actions and longer term options to improve profitability.  For more information ring Business Link on 0845 058 6644
